The Fantis tradition of importing, manufacturing, and distributing fine Greek foods has been providing its North American customers with flavors of Greece and the Mediterranean since at least 1911. Originating in the Financial District of downtown Manhattan, Fantis is now located in the Meadowlands of New Jersey and has its own branches across the US and Canada. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership and management, Fantis continues this tradition while maintaining a competitive position in the ever-evolving marketplace.

Over 100 years in the making

1919

Argyrios Fantis, a Greek immigrant, imported feta cheese, olive oil, and anchovies to provide his Greek-American neighbors with their traditional food from their homeland.

Fantis Foods was established and located on Manhattan’s Pearl Street

1929
1950

Moved into a three-warehouse complex on Franklin street.

1969

Opened two distribution centers in Canada. One in Montreal, and the other in Toronto

1969
1985

Chicago distribution center opened to serve the mid-west market

1989

Headquarters moved to the New Jersey Meadowlands in Carlstadt

1990

Florida distribution center opened in the Tampa area

2000

California Distribution center opened to cater to the west coast

2008

State-of-the-art feta production facility opened in Goshen, NY
